Klipsch is one of a very few companies who have a massive presence in the professional theater business. They have taken this expertise and brought it to the home theater market in their THX Ultra2 line of speakers. This speaker is a di-pole speaker, which is extremely well built but quite a bit larger than you might expect if you're used to the box stores or the cube speakers which others try to sell. The simple reason for this is that to obtain THX Ultra2 certification, the speakers have to meet specific test guidelines set out by George Lucas as the THX logo. Klipsch speakers are always efficient and this is no exception. While it only requires 100W of amplification when other competitors can require twice that, it will easily match the volume and quality output. This is everything you would want in a surround sound speaker. Clear, un-muddled sound, amazing performance, stunning sound, and a good look too. I've watched several movies recently where there will be ambient noise in the sound. I replaced a Klipsch Reference RF-42 II with this speaker so am used to the sound of the speakers. What continues to surprise me with this speaker though is the number of times I hear the same soundtrack and end up reflexively looking up when I hear the sound of a bird to see if one flew in the room. Yes, it's that clear, that amazing, and that realistic. Nothing is delivered that wasn't in the original soundtrack, nothing is missing. It's just pure audio goodness. You won't regret owning these.Read full review

Being a big klipsch fan and already owning the RP 250s. I really wanted to expand to a 7.1 and these where my choice. Couldn't find any helpful reviews on what to expect from these speakers. So I Purchased and I have to say, the RP 250s has a more bright sound. The ks 525 is more thumpy. More focused in the mids. You can turn it up loud and still enjoy it since it's not so bright. Can handle some power too. Over all im pleased with both but they do sound different. There heavy too and really well made. Only thing I don't like from both speakers is the placement of the console connections. Not a deal breaker though.
