This review is based on Kodak Portra 800 shot at 645 format. I shot it in a variety of lighting and subject-coloration conditions, including outdoor diffuse daylight as well as indoor and nighttime fluorescent and tungsten lights, and on normally as well as brightly attired people. The most satisfying aspect of the daylight and shadow shots was the well-controlled grain and colour fidelity. The most appealing aspect of the nighttime and indoor shots was the better-than-typical handling of fluorescent lighting. The typical greenish cast of fluorescent light was much less pronounced on the Portra 800. However, on the downside, the colour saturation was also decidedly less and somewhat flat in such light compared with daylight. The yellow-orange warm cast typical of tungsten was relatively less well compensated for on this film. However, there the warmth had an overall better appearance of balance, e.g., something more akin to shots taken in the light of a setting yellow-orange sun rather than what one may typically expect from daylight-balanced film shot indoors in tungsten light without any correction. Overall, therefore, this film is a good one to use for general photography certainly outdoors in daylight, but also not bad indoors in artificial light.Read full review

I have always loved Kodak products. This is my go to film when I break out my large format cameras. Color saturation is suburb.
