The AKG K 240 MK II has been used in studios and on sound stages worldwide thanks to its precision output. No matter whether you are mixing music or simply listening to it, the over-the-ear headphones feature Varimotion 30-millimeter XXL transducers that are designed to generate solid base tones as well as impeccable high-pitched sounds. Indeed, the audio bandwidth extends from 15 hertz all the way up to 25,000 hertz. The ear pads are replaceable to maintain comfort, and a cord spanning 10 feet gives you options on where to position yourself. Weighing in at a half pound, the earphones are equipped with both a 3.5-millimeter stereo plug and a screw-on adapter if you need to plug into a 6.3-millimeter jack.

No ear fatigue
Comparing these to my 20 year old pair which finally died after 1,000s of uses, the sound is just as flat and just as professional. They have not changed much about these in 20 years which tells me something about them and AKG gear in general. The only differences are the removable cable, which is very nice, and they seem a little lighter. They are still pretty comfortable to wear for long sessions. I'm lovin them.

Legendary sound at a budget price
Just buy em already dont even think. I'm an old school audiophile who needed some knock arounds and just happend to love the old 240m these are not those but they are not inferior they just have a sound all their own, and it is a great sound. Awesome mids, crystal highs, the bass isn't booming but it's accurate sounding and never muddy (I didn't expect Beats level bass out of open cans anyway) and the sound stage is open as hell without much leakage. Also the accessories included were what I was going to buy to upgrade them anyway and would have cost me as much as the cans alone. All of that makes these the best for a gaming headset when coupled with a snowball or my choice the modmic 4.0. or as a set of mid quality home recording studio cans. I'm so happy with this purchace I may buy another pair pretty soon

WOW!! Excellent Item!!
Price was perfect. Item was in perfect new condition even though the box looked like it survived a few rounds of soccer. Headphones allow a well balanced(neutral) sound so that you hear everything when monitoring and mixing. These are not base heavy but you can change the sound through your software some but if you are looking to change it too much then you need a different headset that is already catered to your taste.
