These over-ear headphones are very comfortably padded and of sturdy construction, offering very clear sound reproduction with minimal sound leakage, and very good isolation from outside sounds. You'll find this headphone set used in professional radio, voiceover and podcasting studios. Features such as the detachable, modular cable ensure that it's easy to maintain and replace the components that will see the most wear and tear, and the cable is of generous length - easily extendable if needed. Now, if you're looking for hi-fi sound reproduction for critical listening, mixing and mastering in a quiet environment and sound leakage isn't an issue, look at Shure's SRH1840 open-back headphones, which will give you a more transparent sound with more 'air'. By contrast, you wouldn't want to use those in a recording studio - and that's where the SRH440 shines.Read full review

I had been looking for new headphones for a while. I needed to replace my beats solos, I hated the sound of the beats. It was quite unenjoyable. The 440s are built extremely well, although made primarily of plastic they don't feel cheap in any way. The adjustable headband can be increased in size in order to fit larger heads. Right and left clearly marked (Red:Right Blue:Left) Also labelled on the headband. Overall these headphones are very customizable. The 10 foot coiled cable is durable and of high quality. The cable is really cumbersome when using headphones with a cell phone or iPod, I suggest purchasing a replacement 120 cm cable from China, by doing that these headphones become more portable and mobile friendly. The carrying pouch is made of synthetic leather. I've used the adapter to listen to records through my receiver, used it with my iMac, taken it around places, used my iPhone and iPod classic. These headphones have handled every situation they were placed in with flying colors. The only complaints I have would be the headband padding (which is non-existing) which makes the headphones a bit uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. For $100 there really isn't much to complain about, there is a lot to be praised such as the amazing sound quality and frequency response. These headphones were a much needed upgrade.Read full review

I was looking for headphones that puts out studio quality sound. I bought a few other brands including the Bose earbuds and I wasn't impressed by any of them. One of my co workers recommended Shure so I went online and researched the company. I read the same thing every brand claims about their product. I like what I hear from the Shure headphones. My ears don't lie. I use it everyday. I play guitar and I use my iphone as my amplifier. I've compared the Shure headphones with the other headphones/earbuds that I own and none of them comes close to the sound quality it produces. I wish I knew about Shure earlier. These are the best I've heard so far and the price was decent. I spent more on Bose earbuds that I returned the next day.
Excellent headphones at a great price! I would say that ever since I have owned these I have loved them. In fact, I loved them so much I decided to buy another pair when I saw them on Ebay. They are very comfortable and have a great sound as well. I use them for doing my vocal recording and love the tone and overall great sound they offer. I would highly recommend these if you are looking for a set of headphones for a very reasonable price.

I am currently studying audio engineering in Miami, and i can truly say after recommendations from my teachers. These Shure headphones are the best sounding for the price. The low end is perfectly balanced with the mids and highs not creating a fake bass boosted sound as some headphones would. 10/10 recommend for any person looking to mix and master music.
