    Sonic / AT&T 4111

There are two firmware configs. We got the ATT version for use with ATT DSL (not sonic). As DSL modem, it provides more diagnostic & information than the older Speedstream ATT DSL modems. Wireless works fine, but has no external antennae, and can't adjust the transmit power so that's a negative if you are looking for range. Suggest reading about DD-WRT if you need power, or unique features for hotspot.

    What this is missing

In general this is a Good Home Gateway. It covers WIFI all the way up to the newer N band. It can even be set to only use the 5 GB band. It doesn't have a "guest" separate mode for drop ins. This mode would give a guest access to the internet but not the home network. It doesn't have the ability to manually set the time/date. So every time I look at the time, its someplace off in La-La land. On the other hand as long as you disable the "easy setup" mode (the one button setup) and use Char/Num/Upper/lowercase and special characters for the WIFI password it should be as secure as anything short of a VPN. I would also change the default SSID to something besides a name that identify's the router.

  • Easy setup and works great

I purchased this router/modem to use with my internet provider. It works great, and was very easy to set up and start using! I recommend this product if you're looking for an easy way to get started to the internet. You will be up and running in no time. The directions are straight forward and simple to follow.

  • What a Difference!

I won this DSL router to replace a Netgear model that was constantly needing a reboot and had decided not to allow me to access some of my favorite web sites. As soon as the AT&T rep helped me get it up and running, the Pace 4111N began performing lightening fast compared to the Netgear, and the trouble I had with accessing web sites was gone. The Pace is also providing a stronger wireless signal, usually all bars on my indicator. The Netgear never gave me all bars. If you have DSL with AT&T, this router is the one for you. The only improvement I would make is to provide an on/off switch, but it's not a big deal.

  • What I needed

I had an old 2Wire that was from AT&T. It was to the point of being reset every few minutes, so I thought I would try the PACE unit since it was compatible with my AT&T service. The price was much less than anywhere else, which made me wonder if I was doing the right thing. However, the unit worked perfectly and quickly. I also like the 2 lights for wired and wireless units that are connecting.

  • Fine

It looks old-fashioned, but I’m using it only as modem. It works smoothly with modern mesh network router (Eero).

  • Good. Up to date wifi att router

Purchased for a fraction of the price wanted by Att but they would do the set up and registration which too about one hour on the phone.

  • Works great and quick to install.

I got this product to replace an older modem that kept dropping the connection. This product only took me a few minuets to install from my old setup. Just use your computer to log into the wifi network and follow the steps on the AT&T site. It works great and have never lost the signal yet!
