This is the little brother of the 3021 - All of the strength and engineering that you would expect from a Bogen Manfrotto tripod but considerably lighter in weight. It was designed as a crossover from the professional to the amateur and works really well for both fields. Unlike the studio tripods there are no width adjustments for the angle of the legs so you either have to go full span or place it on a firm enough setting to hold a reduced span without the legs slipping. Height adjustment is quick and easy and it is designed for mid weight cameras. It is designed for all Bogen camera heads - video or camera. Once again an easy "on" adjustment with three screws under the tripod head to secure the camera or video head.

What you can see (but I didn't notice) and what you can't see... What you can see in the pic if you look very closely (but I didn't notice) is that the nut to tighten the tilt is badly deformed. This causes issues setting and controlling the head. What you can't see, is that the head is stuck on the base - when I realized the head was a write-off I thought "at least I can use the base with a new head". Nope. The usual three screws that hold the head in place from the bottom (the top of the center shaft) are missing and the head is somehow fused to the top of the center shaft. So I have had to resort to a rebuild using spare parts, which will repurpose this is a pan-only tripod.

Great Tripod for the mobile videographer on the go. Strong construction steady legs and a very good fluid head. Not much else to say except that if you are looking for a very usable tripod without spending too much money and easy to carry around you cannot find a better tripod than this. This is a no brainer, just buy it, you will never regret that you did.

I have owned a Velbon VS-3 for many years it has served me well. I thought this tripod/ball head combination would be sturdy and somewhat lighter and more compact than what I had. It is very sturdy but it was even longer than my Velbon and much heavier. In my opinion this would not be suitable for travel and would be best utilized in a studio setting. I'll just have to try to sell it and recoup what I paid.

First I bought a 3046, a heavy, monstrous beast. I realized it would be impossible to go hiking with that thing, so I bought the 3011. Stable, light (but not flimsy light), and easy to use. I love this tripod. Great replacement for my 40 year old Vivitar tripod. I love it and so will you if you buy it.
