I've been buying mass market 1:24 scale diecast cars to be played with by visiting children for two years. These New-Ray diecast cars may not be made for children; the mirrors are rigid; Motormax, Welly, Maisto and others have rubber like mirrors that can be pulled off and replaced. But these heavy cars are great for kids to play with. When a child picks up one of these big heavy cars he/she gets to learn what quality is. I'd be ashamed to give kids cheap plastic models. Tires on New-Ray and the others easily roll off the plastic rims. They can just as easily be replaced. Just remember to sweep up the pieces before you vacuum. The doors seem to be as sturdy on New-Ray models as on made-for-children diecast models. Spray a little Pledge on the windshield, then buff them while you clean the fingerprints off the rest of the car.
