  • By all initial measures, it seems a good replacement for 1998 Saturn SL2 PCV tube.

So, after some recent car troubles, I was still a little leery of vacuum leaks and such and happened to be looking under the hood for something else and noticed that the PCV tube was cracked on the end opposite the engine. The shop cut off the small cracked section and reattached as a stopgap measure bu said the tube was 'tired' and oil soaked (there had been a minor oil leak that had been fixed the prior year) and should be replaced. So, I Googled around and came up with this as a generic replacement. Only cost a couple bucks, shipped in a few days. Took about 5 minutes to slide off the old tired tube and put on the brand new one. So far, ~1 mo later, no problems. Fit seemed good. Right dimensions. Tube felt solid. Advertised as "oil resistant," I believe. Old one was OEM, I think. Car's 18 years old. Here's hoping this tube lasts another 5-20 years. Heck, it'll probably outlast the car, at this point... Not much else to say. It's a tube. It feels sturdy. It fits in my engine where it needs to fit and does what it needs to do. That's about it. Yeah?
