expression means off/on
So this is more of an on and off pedal although there is a range of expression, i guess if you crank your amp you could get a range but mostly it falls off quickly as you press it. It works in both directions which is nice. I use this for acoustic pickups so I don't need to install a volume knob on my person or on the guitar.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Finally found what I needed....
I have tried numerous volume pedals for use with my Yamaha keyboard. None seemed to work properly. Lots of buzzing and distortion, etc. Also having to use battery or power adapter was alway a pain and created buzzes too. Just what I needed
I needed a volume pedal to for my drum machine, When playing live I plug my drum machine into this pedal and adjust the drum volume at different times in a song as I play my guitar and then at the end of the song I back this Quiklok pedal to the minimum and that actually is the same as turning off the drum machine The pedal is very quiet during adjusting the pedal while playing and the sound goes from full on to full off Just what I wanted , It's a great pedal for my needs and the price is right.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
