After I learned how to make a mojito in Cuba, I was anxious to try my newly learned skill at home. I even planted my own mint. When the mint was ready, I was ready to give it a go, but how to bruise the mint? I tried wooden spoons, metal spoons, forks, even a mortar and pestal. Every mojito turned out bitter from the mint. I saw the Native Spring muddler on line and gave it a try. It is attractive stainless steel, looks nice with my bar implements, has some heft to it---no lightweight! Has rubber gripper rings around the top & they even sent extras. The bottom is a spiked plastic (sturdy) that is used to bruise the mint. I just put 6-8 leaves in the bottom of a glass, poke the leaves, then twist, just several times, just enough to bruise the mint to release the oils. Added sugar, lime juice, white rum, club soda, ice, and Voila!---I've made a mojito that tastes just like the ones I drank in Cuba. I would highly recommend this muddler.Read full review
