Bilstein 24-185462 4600 series, front shocks, 2000 Excursion, 4x4 Diesel
I purchased two front shocks, Bilstein 24-185462 (4600 series), for my 2000 Excursion 4x4 Diesel. They were easy for me to install. I am a shade-tree mechanic, and was able to install both shocks without jacking the truck up or removing the tires. The right side was a little tighter, but with good ratchets, sockets, and good extensions, I was done with both in less than 2hrs. I'd have been faster, but I'm slower in my old age and take my time while listening to music. The ride on these was better than expected. Clearly they were better than the two blown shocks I took off. The ride improved beyond my expectations. I will put two Bilsteins on the rear when I get a chance.
