This book on woodwinds is an old classic. The writer is very knowledgable ,writes well and the book is comprehensive. There is precious little on the newest member of the woodwind family, the saxophone but, being written in the 1960s, it is understandable as the instrument had not yet gained the status it now has. Of course details about the other woodwinds will often be applicable to the saxophone as well so I still recommend to all woodwind players.
