I ordered this older game from a store on eBay, and got my money's worth..for being an older game, the graphics are great..the game play is exciting and yet a little difficult to handle at times. Overall I think that for the price it was a steal...
Worth Spending your money on since its Different from Previous Versions
I have played every MLB the show game, and MLB 12 the show is by far the best baseball game. Many people who are not die hard MLB The show fans, say this is like the previous version, but I disagree and think there have been changes. The graphics look a lot better than before, and the different camera angles in this game give you the feel like your watching a baseball game on t.v.
The sound you hear when the bat makes contact with the ball is different. It now sounds a lot more real. The new ball physics make the game more a lot more fun. Ground balls up the middle now hit second base causing the ball to roll towards left or right field. When you hit a ball down the line, you see the ball tailing at an angle like you see in a real baseball game.
My favorite thing about this game is they changed road to the show, Instead of having to start your career by playing 2-3 seasons in the minors, you now automatically start in double A as a top prospect and a starter at whatever position you choose. This allows players to make it to the bigs quicker and actually get to play with and against current major leaguers, instead of waiting 2-3 seasons watching players retiring. This makes the game a lot more enjoyable.
Diamond Dynasty is the newest mode in the game. You start out by creating a team of your choice. You choose the name, design the logo, design the uniforms including hats. My jerseys I created look exactly like my schools. In this mode you are given a roster of 25 created players. Using those players you play against the computer or other users teams to gain money to either train the created players or buy card packs. When you buy a card pack you get a set of random cards that usually have decent MLB players who you can add to your roster and use when you play a game.
I definitely recommend this baseball game.Read full review
Great Game, not much different but great nonetheless.
Same game as 2011. Has some new batting features and pitching features that I have not tried or tried long enough to speak about. Otherwise same game looks better and updated rosters. However, doesn't take away from the fact that it is the best baseball game out. Fun game to play. I practically like the franchise where one can manage the ballpark and team. Too much to talk about without singling out, for me anyways. Must buy for me after a year with 2011. One just needs the updated one with different music and rosters etc. By the way the music is not better than 2011 but when you play the game as often as I do one needs some different music nonetheless. But generally it is not terrible, the music.
MLB 12: The Show is an absolutely phenomenal gaming experience. This game really improves its quality since last year's edition, and it has a new, black color themed menu for game parts like Road to the Show, making it look much sleeker and eye catching. I would give it a 4 out of 5, but game movements are still a little choppy, like if your tagged out you don't turn to the dugout and walk, you just stop in place for a second, turn, then walk there. Other then the movements, its a great game and will entertain for, well, until the next one comes out.
