Should have another title...Lies about lies they teach you in school
This book has its good points, but it is also loaded with the same old worn out Anti-Christian, Anti-European, Islam saved us from ourselves nonsense spewed by many other PC "scholars". Page 129, The Dark Ages. The author makes the same cliche lies about how backward Europe was due to the oppressive and stupid church. It also even proclaims the lie that pre-Columbian Europeans believed the earth was flat because of the ignorance of the church. THIS IS FALSE and has no basis in fact!!!. He goes on to exalt the enlightenment of Islam and how we owe a debt of gratitude to Islam for saving all the knowledge hillbilly Europeans lost due to their stupid church, and that returning Crusaders sparked the Rennaisance by bringing back knowledge Islm has preserved. WRONG!!!. This is so tiresome and plain wrong. In reality...it was Christianity that advanced science. All of the great men of science were Christians. Newton, Galileo, Linnaeus, Faraday, on and on and on. The idea that science has to be atheistic is a new concept that arose out of Marxism and Darwinism.
