State-of-the-art scanner!
Scanner is a state-of-the-art device which means that it also captures close-signals on ANY and ALL frequencies for logging communications, including all aircraft (VHF and UHF AM type transmissions) frequencies. One inconvenience for my use is that this unit incorporates a push-on/off power button instead of a rotary combination volume control on/off like the older versions, so I keep in on and simply adjust the volume down. Having rechargeable AA batteries is more convenient because it will go through regular batteries in about four days of constant use (avg. 6 hrs daily). It has a very fast scan speed rate with very clear and crisp reception levels! It also allows up to 50 lock-out channels which is more than I require (routinely scanning about 100 frequencies). It is encased in a hardy & adequate plastic which will endure many bumps, drops, or harsh use; and, easily fits in pocket or velcro it to your car dash (light enough to not need a mount for it). Display screen is large & bright and also has adjustable contrast. This is a keeper!
