Standard dual core, but pretty impressive since it comes with an IGP. Make sure you get an FM1 compatible board. Downclocks and undervolts itself when idle saving some power. Power consumption:saving ratio much higher in A6 and A8 series. Will play moderate intensity games only iff you have a high powered discrete GPU. Can't handle high physics or unit count calculations very well, framerates will drop near unplayable (2v2+ in SC2). Not overclockable on the MSI A75A-G55 mainboard. Temperature sensors messed (in Speedfan). For 42 bucks i can't complain too much and it will be purposed into a nice fileserver/multimedia CPU. TDP without IGP is 53W. As of the new year around 2012, I would recommend going with a quad core since applications that utilize two cores or more are becoming more common.Read full review
