After 30 years, I replaced my Sony KP7220 which was good at finding loose hairs on a person’s head, with the HW30 which is quite good at finding a very large field of neck wrinkles. I purchased the HW30 even though I wanted the HW50 but the discounted cost difference was too high. While the improvements offered by the HW50 over the 30 looked great on paper, looking at the screen in my home they now seem completely unnecessary. My set up uses a 119" screen and the advertised 70,000 to 1 dynamic brightness looks pretty much the same as my flat panel LED TV with an advertised dynamic ratio of 200,000 to 1. This may not be true with a 300" screen, but if you have the money for a room that large, a 4k projector should fit in the budget! After watching Hugo on my Blue Ray DVD I am completely sold.Read full review
