Star Wars: Vision of the Future is a book writen by Timothy Zahn in hardcover 1998, it was released in paperback in 1999 by Bantam Spectra books. This book takes place 19 years after the battle of Yavin and 10 years after the "Last Command". There are a few major items that are happening in this book that make it really interesting. The first one is that the Empire, lead by Admiral Gilad Pellaeon comes to the conclusion that they are fighting a losing battle. As a result he initiates peace talks with the New Republic. A small group of Imperial Moff's are against this idea. As a result they start a plan that will sow dissent into the heart of the New Republic, igniting old racial fears. Secondly, the re-appearance of Grand Admiral Thrawn causes a rallying point around the Empire. Luke, Mara, the Solos, and all the other heroes of the New Republic fan out to stop the Imperial threat. Great action and Zahn continues to lead *all* Star Wars writers as the best writer. 5/5 Latsyrhc Tamarack CollectiblesRead full review
