Necessary Evi,l you have to have it.
its a needed part you have to have, the problem is the manufacture Ford Engineer has problems with them leaking because of the thinness of the plastic and the hose clamps. Due to constant heating and cooling it leaks around the cheap Stainless Steel banding clamps that connect the hoses to the THIN plastic pipe connections can stretch and leak. First thing you have to do is replace the clamps with screw type an not overtighten. A little RTV sealant around the inside hose to pipe will assist in this. This is our second one in 3 years. Same part costs $131.00 at parts supply, this is a great price from this supplier.
