Excellent Value and Must Have for Any Dive Watch Collector
The Citizen Fujitsubo in dark titanium looks great, wears well, is comfortable, and an excellent value! I highly recommend this for any watch collection. My personal example runs about 20 seconds fast per day which is the far end of the stated specs, but within spec nonetheless. I love this watch. The gray fume dial looks fantastic in proper light, but is harder to distinguish the effect in less than ideal lightening conditions. The watch face paired with the dark titanium case and bracelet with black bezel really look fantastic and gives the watch its stealthy vibe. The indices look to be pressed from the back of the dial and do not look to be applied. They may be applied, but appearances look to be pressed and painted. They look decent regardless of which approach actually used; pressed/painted or applied marker. I prefer applied markers. Either way, the indices on this watch do the job. The bracelet is surprisingly decent at this price point, the clasp is milled and the links look solid. I'm not sure if the end links are solid or hollow. I suspect they are hollow, but do your own research. The end links are male end links, which I really don't like on any watch. I wish they were female, but they do the job either way. Negatives: The watch has dark hands. The hands are properly lumed. The lume is absolutely necessary because even in the daytime, in less than ideal light, you will have difficulty determining the time even with the lumed hands. I understand that Citizen wanted to have a blacked out, stealth look however the watch would be better served with simple stainless steal lumed watch hands to support easy legibility via stronger contrast between steel and the dark dial face. ' It takes some time to get used to how light this watch feels. You almost forget the watch is even on the wrist, and this can also seem to be a drawback. With the watch feeling so light due to the titanium construction, it doesn't feel as substantial as a 316L stainless steel watch. And without feeling substantial, it may be perceived as cheap feeling. This sense of cheapness fades quickly as you wear it and appreciate the material's benefits. I like the dark gray metal of the titanium used. I'm not sure if it's like a PLC coating or this is the natural color of the material. Regardless, it does show fingerprints rather easily, especially if your hands had any oils on them when you touch the metal surface. The crystal does seem to have AR applied. Reflection is nominal when in the sun. The crystal is actually a beveled (or chamford edge) on the top side giving the watch a novel, very cool visual effect, particularly with the indices. The bezel action is unsatisfying and probably the only real negative quality and drawback to the watch.
