Fun with a little retro twist, the Sega Genesis 32X black console add on can offer an entertaining visit to games of the past. Sega's Genesis 32X gaming add on can be a real blast from the past. You may remember the tower of power that you could get by plugging add ons and cartridges into one other. This was most notable if you were playing with the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge and had a game genie. Sega released the 32X upgrade to the Genesis system as a way to compete with the new 32 bit consoles. This lasted until they could release new consoles themselves, such as the Sega Saturn. There were quite a few advantages to this. Firstly, you only needed to buy the Sega 32x instead of a whole new system to get the upgraded games. This included the entire suite of accessories that were out for the Sega Genesis. Secondly, the Sega 32X enabled players to keep their existing library of games playable, since you were using the same system. This style of upgrade also led to games being able to merge features together. Finally, it led to more advanced 32 bit games being playable on the Sega Genesis. The Sega 32X only adds a few new titles as it was considered a stopgap until the Sega Saturn was released. The 32X was designed to work with the Genesis console and there is a spacer to support the second model of Genesis. The Sega 32X worked much like a large cartridge plugged into the top of the system. It includes a power cord as it needs a power supply separate from the console. While the Sega 32X supports its own game library, it can also work with all the old games as well. The 32X measures 12 inches by 8 inches by 12 inches. It has two 32-bit SH2 RISC processors from Hitachi that run at 23MHz. It was 40 times faster than the original Genesis, with 32,768 colors and 50k polygons rendered each second. It has 256KB of RAM and another 256KB for video memory. The Sega Trio System
This was a system that always got away from me since I was a kid, I always wanted it now I have it over 20 years later but never the less I finally got it. Since having it, I was very happy with this product, a lot of people give it a bad review because of all the add-ons but I never minded when they added new features and enhanced resolutions and better color and sound.
