Ok. Here’s the deal on Tiger Woods PGA 12 (TWPGA12) for PC. First of all, it’s the exact same as the online game, except the add-on courses. Secondly, there is no caddy. The caddy is featured only in the console versions only, like PS3 and XBox. Not for PC. The game play is fun, but often times difficult to play; especially when reading putts. The type of club, lie and/or wind direction and speed play an enormous factor in your shot placement. Although, you have the (3) click swing option. with marked guidelines; 50% of the time the guidelines are incorrect. So, to alleviate this, you have the option to preview a limited amount of swing shots and putts, which will give you an idea of your shot accuracy. If you want more previews, you have to pay. You can play alone or you can play online with others. During game play, you accumulate points as well as cash, which you can use to outfit your golfer with better equipment. For instance. The default driver will only carry about 250 yards. However, other online golfers are hitting their drivers 300 yards +, due to better equipment. So, you have to pay for additional points, which will allow you to buy better clubs, balls, and clothing. So, for an additional $10 via CC or Paypal, you can purchase 1000 points. A decent driver will cost you 250 points. A decent fairway wood will cost you 100 points, and so on. Lastly, you must qualify to play in the Masters. To do so, you must win or have top 10 finishes in one of the amatetur tours. Then you must pass Q-School in order to get your pro card. And then you need two top 10 finishes or win a major, to be invited to the Masters. Anyway, it's a fun game but very challenging. And since their aren't any other PC golf games out there; this is your only option. However, I do recommend.Read full review
The game has some nioce features which are different from previous TW editions. Graphics are great, additional courses help to make the game more challenging. Need to include some sort of play manual in download from Orgin. Also, the game has several cliches from time to time that need attention. In the 'Road to the Masters' segment, I'm blocked from continuing after making it to PGA Level! No help from EA support site because that make it difficult to contact them. Other than that, the game is great for playing against others online but again need some sort of manual to help you figure out how to gain or acquire better skills more quickly!
I don't want to repeat, what has already been written, but TWPGA12 is a great game ! It can be a little tough, even downright hard, but you don't want every game to be a piece of cake. My one and only complaint, is the putting...but to offset the difficulty - practice. After a few rounds, you begin to realize how much thought you have to put into a shot, in order to pull it off...I love the gameplay and the manner in which you have to finally get to the Masters. The graphics are a little weak, and far more simple than I like, when comparing with the older golf games. But this is easily overlooked-just a quirk of mine...play well and i know you will enjoy the game, no matter what your skill level is...
After playing EA Tiger Woods PGA since the 2002 version on PC, I decided to "upgrade" to The Masters so I could play with some friends online on occasion... Well the game just does not work... After a long Origin download and some tech support, I did get the game to run (a digital copy no less) and then found out that I can only play the game with an interconnect connection... dont get it.. I have the disc and it is worthless to play since the real game is downloaded and can only be launched through Origin. After finally getting the game to run with Origin, the issues with EA Sports who supports the multiplayer aspects.... namely it does not work correctly and the delay for three weeks waiting for a return email/call back to get the game running... I simply deleted the game , all the files, tossed the Masters Disc in the trash and have gone back to WGT golf... fun and works every time... Miss the old days when I bought a game it actually was mine and playable all the time if so desired.. without an interconnect connection.... Likely I will avoid EA Sports in the future and now look for the older games. I do give cred for the best tech support to the guys at Origin, wonderful people who love games and really did all they could to help, EA Sports should take lessons from Origin. BTW, I do have a very fast and up to date computer running high speed internet... just in case you were wondering about possible used legacy issues. ThanksRead full review
