I had one of these a long time ago and sold it at a moving sale. I was using a different brand radio for a while as I worked in the garage but it never could bring in the stations with the clarity of the old GE. So I bought another one of these GE's and it can pull in stations the other brand couldn't touch. Awesome.

The sound is clear and full at any volume. Bought it used and the lock nut on the tuner shaft had loosened and fallen inside making the tuner knob wobbly. I was able to reinstall it with a drop of loctite which meant taking it apart. This may be a common design problem so plan on doing this if a wobbly tuner knob bothers you.

I have never owned a radio like this one that gave you so muck quality at such a low cost. Works great beyond all of my expectations . I would certainly buy this product again only I would buy it a lot quicker

Great product I still have the 1st new one I bought 25 years ago. The one I just bought plays just as well.

This fully analog Super Radio version no longer uses a capacitor tuning system but instead uses a varicap diode. AM selectivity and sensitivity is virtually the same as earlier SR versions. Tone quality is very good but not quite up to the same quality as earlier Super Radio versions. Volume capability is excellent. A new feature , the wide / narrow switch is completely useless and poorly implemented inside the radio. ( leave set to”narrow” always). The back of radio battery compartment cover is much improved over prior Super Radio versions. The old covers would not latch as well. Battery drain is very minimal just like earlier versions of this radio. Battery life is far away superior to the newest digital radios all of which will drain your wallet. It’s an excellent radio overall.
