Japanese SACD's sound WAY BETTER than U.S. versions
I don't know why BUT ALL the Japanese SACD's that I have sound WAY BETTER than domestic releases including Mobil Fidelity. I have Yes, The Who, Rolling Stones The Beach Boys and they have so much more punch and life. They also seem to have a reverence for the artist or history because they are not re-mixes or "fixed" tracks. I swear I hear tape hiss from the master on my YES SACD's. everything is there warts and all but with so much more life. I almost gave up on the format. It's just a shame that there are not so much to pick from in Rock and Pop ,could someone explain why The Knack is available on SACD and not say BANDS WITH TALENT???
Anyway long story short ,if you see an artist that you like offered as a Japanese release just buy it!!
Nelson Riddle said Linda R. was THE BEST artist he has ever worked with. The title song is a wonderful version. Nelson R.'s arrangements and orchestral blendings are half of what makes this CD great. P.S. I wrote a letter to the sender in Japan with the information above and mentioned that Linda R. has Parkinson's and cannot sing any more... But we have her recordings!! HC CUSACK
