This movie is exciting and original. An action movie with smarts that rises above the usual dreck. Bradley Cooper shines as Eddie Mora, a struggling, unorganized writer who is going nowhere fast. A chance encounter leads him to a drug that transforms his brain and the speed of his cognitive powers. He feels limitless. He uses this power to ascend and does so rapidly. The movie whirls headlong into his new world and the danger it attracts. But, as the saying goes, there ain't no free rides and this one is no exception. Eddie finds himself trapped and a victim of his own limitless brain. Can he think himself out? I saw this movie in the theater with a group of friends and we unanimously loved it. It motivated discussion and is an example of entertaining and thought provoking movie making. I subsequently purchased it and watched it several times since.Read full review
THE THEATRICAL VERSION IS THE ONE YOU WANT! Limitless is a fiercely entertaing movie around the premise; What if you could be hundreds of times smarter, simply by taking a pill. I love this film, seen it countless times. It's smart in addition to being about smarts. But, don't bother with the click-bait "Extended Version with Alternate Ending." It has NO changes to the story. It is merely an inferior first-pass edit. Watch the "Theatrical Version," the one shown in the theaters and on cable. It's flawless. (The edition has both versions)

When this movie first came to theatres, I saw it a couple times and was eager to purchase the DVD. There has never been a plot like this one. The movie has great effects, and does have violence, but you are not sure what will happen next. After getting this movie just yesterday, I saw it twice. The movie seemed to move quickly and there were very few slow points. Bradley Cooper did a wonderful job as the main character and it was amazing to watch the transformation. It is an intelligent film and one of my favorites of 2011!
The premise of this movie is what we believe in the back of our minds - There is a magic pill that will make us more than we are. Pick your poison - caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, steroids, cocaine, blood doping, etc. Limitless is a study as to how far one will go, and how well a drug will work for each individual to make his/her dreams come true. Winning is a high, but once Pandora's Box is open there may be no return. This movie is well edited, with subtle messages; speaking to an audience who may have taken drugs at one time and to those considering it to enhance their performance.

Got this after remembering that I liked the premise, but didn't have time to go to a theater. Worked out much better - watched in the comfort of my home, quietly and enjoyed it quite a bit. Price was great, too - instead of shelling out $20+ (for more than 1 person and refreshments, etc), this came to about a quarter of the price with much more comfort and less distractions. I will watch again when time allows to see what I missed the first time around. This is a very good movie that would make for a great sequel.
