When I first bought this,I wasn't sure if it was something I could do. I am not a ballerina, nor have I ever taken a class. Mr. Martins explains through the entire workout which muscles to use & I found the classical background music soothing. It isn't easy by any means, but I found I could keep up with the dancers after a few tries. When he uses a ballet term, he explains what it means & there is a glossary at the end of the DVD of more terms & explanations. There are four dancers to follow & no distracting background sets. The exercises are broken down into four sections & I believe you can customize your workout, although I have never tried that feature. I found the slow, graceful, controlled movements took more concentration than I originally thought. I worked up quite a sweat without being completely out of breath, although my breathing did become heavy. As this is the warm-up for the NYCB, you don't need any special equipment or shoes. There is a dance at the end of the workout, if you still have the energy. I have watched it & it has no complicated steps nor will you be required to stand on tip-toe. I haven’t used it yet I on Christmas break from exercise........but I watched it when I got it.......like the first one it seems easy to do......when I start up exercising after Christmas.....I going to do this exercise

Good and simple workout for people who have basics in ballet! I already have ballet experience but stopped dancing it professionally and I wanted to re-cap my skills. I like that it is an intense 45 minute workout and has a combination at the end. Only bad thing is the monotone voice in the backround giving the instructions and the backround setting. other than that great!
