As a reader of The Golden Compass for the past quarter of a century I had never seen the film version of the novel. Now I know what I missed for the past fourteen years. The DVD is wonderful. I am now much older than I was before, yet I found the visualization as delightful in its own way as the book. I recommend this title to the whole family, from grandchildren to grandparents.
