Spring powered . My is in 22 caliber fits in a small backpack . The stock is removable , but not easy to remove ( tight fitting ) . Set up for right handers so I contacted Hatsan for left hand grip and they sent them out at no charge to me . Mounted a Bug Buster 3x9x32mm scope on mine with a dovetail to pica tinny rail adaptor . Works very well . So far no issues , only had to adjust the trigger so I could cock it to shoot it . It would not engage on the sear to lock the spring back.

This is a fun little plinker. I use it for pest control and target practice in the back yard. This is not, in my opinion, made for long range shooting, I only use this gun for shots of about 60 feet and less. This is where I have found it to be the most accurate. This gun does have a bit of a kick to it and the spring makes some noise when fired. I've only shot it with the butt stock attached so I cannot rate how it shoots without the butt stock. Overall, I'm happy with this gun.

I was looking for a compact gun for critter control in my back yard. I prefer birds to chipmunks and squirrels and happen to be a poor shot off hand with a pellet pistol. The stock on the Hatsan sure helps.
