Technically better replacement. Minor quality issue on edge contacts.
Used this to replace an HH84AA0016 control board in a Carrier furnace. Works like the original and includes an additional diagnostic LED that the original lacks. The turn off delay is also set via a DIP switch instead of a jumper wire. It was a direct plug-in replacement. No fiddling to connect it or get it to fit. See photo for comparison. Overall components and construction are pretty good. More modern microprocessor than the original. I liked that they made cutouts so that certain high wattage resistors didn't brown the PCB. Only complaint (and why I didn't give it five stars) is that there is an edge connection that had a thick, uneven build up of solder from on the contacts from the wave soldering process used on the board. That area should electroless tinned but then masked prior to wave solder. I wound up touching that up by using a desolder pump to vacuum off the excess solder. I don't know if this is a common problem. Otherwise, quality was good and the delivered price was excellent. Definitely worth 15 minutes of cleaning up the edge connections before installing.

Solved weird acting furnace problem.
It’s a big improvement over original logic board. It has a diagnostic function that the old board lacked. On the Carrier furnace the multi connector is pushed through the upper sheet metal of the fan compartment so one needs to push up on the board and firmly down on The connector. Direct Replacement -
The ICM281 Furnace Control Module from Zoro was an excellent choice. It was a direct replacement module for a 25 year old Carrier furnace (that still has a couple of years left). The module arrived as stated. The replacement took about 10 minutes and saved me at least $500. The ICM 281 has a diagnostic LED that is an enhancement from the original board. I bought this mother board to have a backup. It is cold outside and central air/heat goes down and the problem is the mother board I have it ready. It was a great price for peace of mind. Works Perfect!!
I bought this board for my PAYNE Furnace. It works perfect and installed easily. My brother had one of the inducer motor wires reversed on one of the screws and needless to say, caused the furnace to go through an incorrect process so as not to fire up. The LED light did its job though and blinked a pattern that pointed us to REVERSED POLARITY; allowing us to immediately find the problem.
