Virtual walls are great
I bought a new Roomba i3 and love it as much or more than my old one. If you have wifi, you can program the Roomba to stay away from certain areas of the house. I do not have wifi as I use the Hotspot on my phone for internet service. My Hotspot does not work for the Roomba so I bought 2 virtual walls that work GREAT. They are better than the old version because you can set up a straight line barrier as before but you can also set up a square barrier to keep Roomba out of an entire area. Dual mode virtual wall barriers are a must
I bought a Roomba without the dual mode virtual wall barriers, and found out quickly that it's difficult to use it without it disturbing the dog bowls. An "invisible fence" right in my dining room!

Roomba Virtual Wall Barrier Works as Advertised
I purchased a new Roomba. But, we have one very large plant on a very narrow stool. We were afraid that Roomba could bump into it and cause a catastrophe. One of the wall barrier's modes is to generate a 4 foot diameter shield to repel the Roomba. By placing the Virtual Wall Barrier under the plant, the Roomba never got near it.
