Product Information
A handheld version of 1998's PlayStation monster-raising game, Azure Dreams stars a young boy named Kou who must fulfill a rite of passage by venturing into the town's Monster Tower on his 15th birthday. While players can attack monsters directly with Kou in real time, gameplay focuses on raising and training familiars called Tameons to handle combat. As in Nintendo's Pokémon series, each monster can mutate into a stronger, more powerful version as it gains experience.

Players can venture back and forth from Monster Tower at any time to visit the town of Monsbaiya. There, Kou can buy new monster eggs, listen to gossip, contribute to the town's "culture" by making donations, or build improvements to his house by purchasing upgrades from the local carpenter. Kou can also store his money in a safe and learn about the new Tameons by reading the monster book. Newfound monsters can be stored in the stable, as players choose two Tameons to bring with them into the tower.

The goal is to make it through all 30 levels of the tower as well as the 99 floors in the basement. Each game offers randomly generated floors and creatures, so no two games are designed to play exactly the same way twice. This allows players the opportunity to collect new types of monster eggs, build up their current monster's stats, and acquire new items like more powerful swords, orbs, and shields. Various seeds can be fed to monsters or used in combat to influence offensive and defensive statistics.Product Identifiers
