Solid tradition
I've reviewed the newer Camelbak models and prefer this older style with a buckle. The newer models have a sleeve in the top flap that simply slips over the handle on the reservoir. This is change means I can no longer use the top flap to positively retain items . Buckles are a valuable feature and an inexpensive addition. Great small pack, holds substantial amount water for its size.
Used it at a festival, worked like a charm. Tight fitting and holds A LOT of water for such a small pack. Holds just enough for a 1-2 day festival, wallet/keys/phone/portable power pack/cords. The only issue was that my lower back started hurting after some time, but I think that was due to dancing a lot and for not being used to wearing a backpack let alone a hydration pack.
