  • after 25 years, i had to buy another one...!

i had one of these grinders for nearly a quarter of a century before sompm finally broke inside it (one of the grinding burrs broke, so it wouldn't grind finely anymore). i love it so much i'd rather buy another one used than buy a new one of some other brand that might not be as good. so i did! it has a huge range as far as coarseness to fineness of grind, which is great, because i like mine just a little coarser than an espresso grind -- makes for a stronger cup.

  • Doing It the Old Country Way

We've owned one of these for nigh onto 20 years. Never did it balk at grinding some oily beans. We bought a $200 Breville (down under) which is sitting in our garage because it's poorly engineered and didn't have the oomph to grind the beans. This little baby does just fine for less than half the cost. We're keeping our old one KMM as a spare. My old nose could barely smell the cigar, but now that it's ground a few loads, the smell is gone. This little grinder is what we call "value."

  • Burr Grinder Cool

Our vintage blade grinder by Braun started to break. I learned about the burr grinder and found a Braun design that had the system. It not only looks great but works well. All grinders are a little noisy. My only peeve is that they leave a lot of grinds around the machine and countertop when you pull out the filled container of ground coffee. I’ve notice that other burr grinders (even more expensive ones) do this so I guess it’s just part of the (ahem) charm.

  • Awesome grinder -- too bad Braun stopped making it!

This is a great coffee grinder that has unfortunately been discontinued by the manufacturer. eBay is the only place I can find them! This is the 3rd I've had, over a period of 20 years.
