Buy the real thing
A truly genuine Canon battery will always our-perform the nasty, inferior stuff produced by unknown and unheard of manufacturers in the back streets of Beijing. I have previously cyt corners with Canon camera batteries and I gave paid the price in poor performance and short lifespan between charges. Essentially this short review is designed to warn people about after-market, unbranded stuff and highly recommend the purchase of the real thing. Worth the extra $$!
While the real Canon batteries are more expensive than the generic ones, I really got tired of having to charge the generic ones constantly. I would have four batteries in my briefcase, supposedly all charged, but I couldn't get through the photos I needed to take. Decided to bite the bullet and buy a couple more Canon's. Worth the money!
