The Ka-Bar D2 Extreme is a utility knife that’s designed for combat situations. This tactical knife is black, so the fixed blade edge doesn’t clash with traditional hunting gear and military accessories. During a hunt, you can take advantage of the product’s sharp blade, which can cut through wild game at a close length with ease. Besides hunting, you can also use Ka-Bar Extreme Knives for military purposes since its overall length provides self-defense benefits. As you hold the ergonomically designed grip, you’ll have complete control of the blades when you swing these knives. It's a fighting knife
Overall this knife is not meant for carving the turkey up at the Thanksgiving dinner table. It is a fighting knife first, it can help do a few survival related chores but it is a fighting knife. Judging from it's weight and feel, the Ka-Bar will dig a hole in dirt, chop and split fire wood, sever ropes, pry and also cut but it will not do many of those really well. It is very sharp and will cut well. The knife feels great when it's held in the hand. It comes off to me as well balanced tough and signifiant but not bulky. Knowing this design has a history founded in war fighting by war fighters comes through when it's held in your hand. This knife is an awsome weapon but it's not a survival type knife. Awesome Ka-Bar
This is the knife that helped win WWII. Fantastic item that makes me feel like I'm holding a piece of history in my hand. Beautifully crafted from updated materials (D2 tool steel for the blade for example), this knife is the quintessential Ka-Bar fighting knife, heart and soul. It has just enough tweaks to modernize it, without losing anything that makes it so special. I have many knives; if I could only have one, this would be it.
