Organized and Easy!
I use a walker and some time ago I tried to make an organizer for it without a pattern. It was a nightmare! My walker has the curve in the center of the front and so nothing would stay straight without sagging when I put my books in it to study. This one has overcome that problem by making multiple bags that you can use as you wish. They hold all sorts of things as the pattern is marked or you can sew in pockets that exactly fit the item you use. I like the idea of a water bottle holder, but, I would line mine to keep it colder and absorb the condensation. You can buy metallic fabric that is used in fabric lunch bags or hot pads. The handy organizers can also go with you if you're sitting in a row of chairs and have to leave the walker behind. The D Organizer is similar to the one I first made and the curve in my walker makes it unusable. It would work well however with a straight bar. I prefer the individual organizer bags that can be taken off easily when you have to fold the walker to put it in the car. It's so much easier also when you go through a drive through window for lunch, so that what you need is within reach, not in the back seat! Yes, I am speaking from experience! I have several friends that use walkers and they are delighted with the organizers as gifts. They don't take much fabric and you can either make them feminine with an adorable print and lace or masculine with horses or race cars or their favorite team. Pleased as Punch!
Pattern was great & easy to follow. I made pattern C, and was able to change things with ribbons instead of hooking on with Velcro to fit my mother-in-laws walker. She has one with brakes, which is totally different. I'm sure any of the patterns could easily be adjusted with an experienced sewer.
