    Superradio

Nice radio but tuning is erratic. Difficult to see the dial. FM sensitivity is very good, AM is ok but not what I expected. Using a 50 ft copper long wire antenna made absoluty no difference when hooked up to the external AM antenna terminal. Audio is good but not alot of bass response.

  • Top critical review

Quality declined greatly over the years

Iowned two of these in the past and was very happy with them, except they wore out being used in construction zone. Clearly the quality of the inner workings has suffered since the first release. When I turn it on to my favorite AM station the receiver drifts off and I have to move the dial. Sometimes using the wide/normal switch helps but not always. Also, there is significant bleedover from adjacent frequencies, and long distance reception is a joke. Almost as if the shell of the super radio contains the workings of a $10 pocket radio. Same holds true for the FM band.

  • Not the AM "SuperRadio" Expected

While the FM channels are clearer than "normal" and the sound is good, I purchased this for AM channels. However, AM is still AM in rural areas. With a name "SuperRadio" one would expect something just a little more above normal and the usual. PROS: Large size, good speakers, and heavy enough not to fall over if it is accidentally bumped. CONS: "normal" AM reception, frequency scale is off. 97.7 FM comes in at almost 100.0, and 58.0 AM comes in at almost 60.0. Not lighted in frequency window making tuning difficult in low light areas. If you expect a SUPER radio you might be somewhat disappointed. While I was disappointed I gave it 4 stars because it was better than what I had. Would I buy again? Not if I had a better choice at a better price.

  • Super Radio still has the best sound and performance!

I'm replacing an older GE Super Radio that finally went to it's rewards in radio heaven... As far as I can tell this RCA version works exactly the same and works just as well. I'm so happy to have a replacement that hopefully will serve me for another 25 years.

  • Great reception

Great reception and receiver sensitivity. The radio (tested in FM) picked up two stations, one was the station I was seeking and the other must have been close or on an adjacent sideband. There was some drift until the radio had been on for 15 minutes. A slight adjustment of the tuning know on the receiver locked on the station. The radio has good audio quality and would make a good emergency or every day radio.

  • RCA AM/FM Radio

This radio isn't as good as the GE Super Radio it's replacing but it's a solid radio. The sound and quality of this radio is very good, however the only real knock I have is that the station that I listen to most of the time will not hold the station sometimes which requires you to redialing in the station. Reception is good for my favorite stations, but I couldn't say it will be for your listening pleasure. 🎸

  • Compact, versatile, portable and easy to use.

5-STAR. It fulfilled all my needs. Compact, portable, versatile (can use with batteries), and can locate out of area stations easily with fine tuning. The built in antennas are very adequate for my purposes..

  • You just can't buy a decent radio anymore. Old radios had a much better selectivity and sensitivity. Sound is only passable.

    Poor sensitivity, and poor selectivity.

  • looks like the old ge radio but

quality is the old fashond china knock-off. look close and you will see cheep knobs and switches.it looks.like it should have long range but is no better than a regular table radio

  • horrible

The reason I bought the RCA Super Radio was an online recommendation for picking up AM stations. I put a circular antenna on it and tried others. One local station can be picked up for a 1/3 of dial, and I cannot pick up a station 30 miles away. This radio is useless. The advertised "high performance is a joke. Note that one cannot rate a zero.
