Good for the Price
If you're like me and own an inexpensive bass that you need to transport to a gig, and don't care to spend as much on a hardcase as you did on the instrument, this is a good solution. Overall the tolex-like skin and the plush interior is decent, but minimally padded. It does fit my Jazz bass very well, and the large accessory box is a plus. The hardware is cheap but works fine; durability may not pan out over time (we shall see!)... For the price paid you get a good looking but fairly insubstantial case; however here's a tip to make it much stronger and more likely to hold up in use. I inserted six black 1 inch wood screws per cross piece ( the 'ribs' that form the accessory box inside the case), two on each of the sides and two on the bottom. This greatly strengthens the case, making it more rigid and less prone to racking. It only takes a few minutes and makes the case as good as one costing twice the price!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is "Get what you paid for"
... if you don't understand that, don't buy it. Mine came defective out of the box (i.e. straight from China), but I can fix it myself. It's not worth the exchange hassle. It does fit a Dean Edge 09 perfectly! That being said, I love Musicians Friends. They will always be a source for me.

Not Flimsy, Great Deal, Works Just Fine. Super Deal.
People have complained about this case being flimsy, but it works great. I do not plan to travel the world with it, just a small gig a few times a year. I do not feel that it is flimsy. It is light weight, and protects a millions time better than any gig bag. Its pretty obvious that is is not a Heavy Duty case, so if you are looking for bullet proof, keep looking. If you are needing something to drag to a few gigs here and there, this will work totally fine for a great price. I have an Ibanez TMB100 Bass, and it fits perfectly fine, with room to spare. I have not tried the key for the lock. Latches work well and don't have to be fought to latch. For $40, this is a fabulous deal. I would recommend this case and i would totally buy it again. VERY Happy with it.

Flimsy, but what I needed
I needed a case for a homebrew Telebird and a Firebird case was three times what I had invested in the guitar. I read a review recommending the Musicians' Gear bass case and took advantage of a great price. Fits perfect. I wouldn't recommend this for a priceless vintage bass but it's adequate.

Good for the money

Does the trick

Good price, good fit
This case fits my Music Man Sub Bass snugly. Weight balance at handle very good. Case deforms some where latches don't line up unless on level surface but that's not really a problem.
