Simply connect the Netgear CGD24G 54 Mbps 4-Port 10/100 Wireless Cable Modem G Router to your cable outlet or line splitter, connect to your computer, and follow the networking Wizard in the enclosed CD. You can customize your network with Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM), and you can configure quality of service to prioritize multimedia traffic in four access categories including voice, video, best effort, and background. You can restrict access to your wireless network with password protection or create wireless guest networks that require no password or prior authorization. Create up to three wireless guest networks, and customize security options for each network. You can restrict access to specific PCs and Macs by specifying the particular computers you wish to grant access to your network. Protect your bandwidth, your business, and your family with content filters you apply with password-protected admin status. Control network use by blocking access to locations that contain specific keywords, blocking access to specific websites, or allowing access to only websites you specify as allowed. Protect your data from malicious eavesdroppers with the Netgear CGD24G 54 Mbps 4-Port 10/100 Wireless Cable Modem G Router’s WEP Shared Key authentication and WPA/WPA2 data encryption. The router features pushbutton activated Wi-Fi Protected Setup that automatically implements WPA/WPA2 encryption security on all WPS-enabled devices. You can fully customize your networking security options and firewall status. You can enable or disable your wireless access point, and you can decide whether your network appears on wireless network “discovery” features. Enable optional e-mail alerts to monitor Denial of Service attacks directed at your network. The technical specifications of the Netgear CGD24G 54 Mbps 4-Port 10/100 Wireless Cable Modem Gateway Router are designed to be flexible for your individual networking needs. The Netgear CGD24G 54 Mbps 4-Port 10/100 Wireless Cable Modem Gateway router connects to your LAN using either its twisted-pair Ethernet, USB, or 802.11b or 802.11g wireless port. Data and routing protocols are compatible with TCP/IP, DHCP server and client, DNS relay, NAT (many-to-one), TFTP climate, and VPN pass through (IPSec, PPTP) technology. The power adapter functions in North America and elsewhere, provided the appropriate outlet adapters are used in conjunction with the unit. The LAN interface is compatible with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-Tx, RJ-45, USB 1.1 Functions, and 802.11g and 802.11b Wireless Access Points. The WAN interface is compatible with DOCSIS 2.0 and downward compatible with DOCSIS 1.0 and DOCSIS 1.1. You can easily check your Wi-Fi status using LED indicators displayed on the Netgear CGD24G 54 Mbps 4-Port 10/100 Wireless Cable Modem G Router. You can monitor the progress as your unit establishes upstream and downstream links, the status of your cable interface, and whether the wireless access point is operating normally. Unit never worked with Time warner cable
Originally the instructions read it that will not work with comcast but not time warner cable, that's why I ordered, I called TWC for support and they told me that the unit was already registered with them and can not activate the unit..
