SynopsisWhen I think about the many coins we gathered to buy loaves of bread and other necessities, the steam pots we placed on our stove and in our oven to heat our home, the money we borrowed from family members time and time again, along with voluntarily remaining unemployed to gain state assistance to pay for my husband's medications I feel as though I have been through it all to encourage and give strength to someone else. I was accused of being lazy, I was ostracized and criticized. With a college education, I watched as everything I once held dear to me fall between the cracks. I bottomed out. I was depressed, discouraged and ashamed, but I never believed that God forgot about or didn't care about my family. Prayer is what I had when everything was so dark and gray. It gave me the strength to face another day. Dedicated to caring for her husband of thirty years, Lorraine and Paul raised their three children until he passed away in March 2007. She was determined to see success in each of her children's lives and they have all obtained college educations. She worked as a daycare provider for over thirty-fi ve years. In her free-time, she loves attending church services and shares her testimony with anyone young or old when possible in hope of changing lives and building their faith in God.
