I hated history in school. I LOVE this book. I learned so much, some of which I wish hadn't happened for me to learn about. Bode and Brock Thoene set realistic fictional characters in factual historical situations. But I thought surely, the Bonus March was part of the fiction, so I Googled it. It was disgustingly true! The horrible things our pre WWII armies did to the WWI vets, under the orders of President Hoover, carried out by MacArthur, Eisenhower and Patton, our WWII heroes and future president was deplorable and unforgivable. Nothing I learned about in school, none of my grandchildren have heard about it, nor my children, nor my friends. A must read, to learn about all the things that lead up to the march.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
