- Spidey swings at Ryu, Chun-Li kicks up a Storm, and Hawkeye takes a shot at Phoenix Wright, through a button-punching fury of special attacks and combo moves. In the style of its high-def predecessors, and in the tradition of its 1990s arcade inspiration, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 pits an expansive selection of Marvel Comics characters and Capcom veterans in heated, 2D-style fighting. The addition of 12 characters, new to the series or returning from a long absence, brings the game's roster to 50 playable fighters, including two downloadable heroes.
From the pages of Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Iron Fist, Nova, and Rocket Racoon are introduced to the long-running rivalry. Hailing from Capcom's side of the aisle are newcomers Firebrand, Dead Rising's Frank West, Nemesis from Resident Evil, Phoenix Wright, Strider Hiryu, and Devil May Cry's Vergil. In standard modes, players choose a team of three characters to fight in successive one-on-one battles. Successful button-mashing attacks quickly fill the "Hyper Combo" gauge, and as in the original Marvel vs. Capcom 3, the X-Factor can be used to temporarily speed up attacks and increase damage.

The new characters are pretty varied in terms of fighting styles as well as usefulness. Aside from one returning character from Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Strider Hiryu, the rest of the added characters are brand new to the series. The line-up ranges from solid new characters like Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange, and Frank West (I'm curious why it took so long for them to be featured on the roster), and the customarily weird additions, like Rocket Raccoon and Phoenix Wright. Phoenix Wright's inclusion feels like pure fan service and he isn't particularly adept at fighting (his moves mostly consist of chucking papers around and falling on the ground), but the remaining newcomers are actually pretty good

This game puts every Marvel vs Capcom down twice
If you like playing fighting games that allow you to unlock tons of content as you play. And enjoy playing game's with many play hours. Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is not the fighting game you are looking for. I never played the early version of Marvel vs Capcom 3, but this game is no better. I don't enjoy the comic book appearance of UMVC3 which is unlike any MVC including the regular MVC. "I'm not a Marvel fan or a comic book fan". Do not count on unlocking new content without spending more money on DL content, there is "no unlockable content". This game does not include old characters like Megaman, Venom. I cant help on feeling Capcom left every MVC fan down. I only played this game about 5-6 times. There is not gratification in playing UMVC3.
