Doesn't work...But new replacent does.
I bought this Hard Drive for a Bell 9241 pvr and it doesn't seem to work. After 2 attempts to format the drive the pvr still doesn't "see" it. I put the an identical Seagate Pipeline hard drive ST3500312CS that I bought on Amazon into another Bell 9241 pvr 2 years ago and there were no issues with it. I tested the pvr and there's no problem with it, so the issue seems to be with this HD. Can't get it to format on a computer either. The drive may be "new" but it is still over 10 years old. Update. So I told the supplier about the dead HD. They said they would ship another free of charge and not worry about sending the defective one back. I received the replacement yesterday and installed it and it works perfectly. Kudos to this supplier, they will stand behind their product

Great replacement for an HD DVR
Great replacement for a HD DVR. Other Drives did not fit because of their size (thickness). This one fit perfect and works well. Glad I found this as it is the same make and model.

It is too early to tell
I had some troubles getting this drive set up. I had to watch some utube videos, After 2 days of trouble shooting I got it up & running. I had to disable "Secure Boot" in Security settings of Toshiba Bios & then , I kept shoving the Windows 8.1 Cd into my PC until it kicked in....finally I got it up & running. So Far = So Good. If you are not so PC savy, You may not want to go with this drive. If you have a Toshiba PC, Buy a new "Toshiba" hard drive, it will set itself up for you. Bottom LIne,...I learned a lot about trouble shooting, Toshiba hard drives.

Fast And A Little Loud
This is a fast drive and I have pretty good luck with Seagate. I would still stick with western digital though if you want a drive to last nearing 10 years. It's a little louder than other brands but just as good on speeds.
