Synopsis#1 New York Times bestseller with more than 11 million copies sold! When 4-year-old Colton Burpo emerges from life-saving surgery with remarkable stories of his visit to heaven, his family doesn't know what to believe. Heaven is For Real details what Colton saw and his family's journey towards accepting their young son had visited the afterlife. "Do you remember the hospital, Colton" Sonja said. "Yes, mommy, I remember," he said. "That's where the angels sang to me." Colton told his parents he left his body during an emergency surgery-and proved that claim by describing exactly what his parents were doing in another part of the hospital during his operation. He talked of visiting heaven and described events that happened before he was born and how he spoke with family members he'd never met. Colton also astonished his parents with descriptions and obscure details about heaven that matched the Bible exactly, even though he had not yet learned to read. With disarming innocence and the plainspoken boldness of a child, Colton recounts his visit to heaven, describing: Meeting long-departed family members Jesus, the angels, how "really, really big" God is, and how much God loves us How Jesus called Todd, Colton's father, to be a pastor The Battle of Armageddon Retold by his father, but using Colton's uniquely simple words, Heaven Is for Real offers a glimpse of the world that awaits us, where as Colton says, "Nobody is old and nobody wears glasses." Heaven Is for Real will forever change the way you think of eternity, offering the chance to see, and believe, like a child. Praise for Heaven is for Real: "A beautifully written glimpse into heaven that will encourage those who doubt and thrill those who believe." --Ron Hall, coauthor of Same Kind of Different as Me, With disarming innocence and the plainspoken boldness of a child, Colton tells of meeting long-departed family members. He describes Jesus, the angels, how "really, really big" God is, and how much God loves us. Heaven Is for Real was the best-selling non-fiction book of 2011 as reported by Nielsen's Bookscan, and was developed as a major motion picture by Sony in 2014. "Do you remember the hospital, Colton?" Sonja said. "Yes, mommy, I remember," he said. "That's where the angels sang to me." When Colton Burpo made it through an emergency appendectomy, his family was overjoyed at his miraculous survival. What they weren't expecting, though, was the story that emerged in the months that followed--a story as beautiful as it was extraordinary, detailing their little boy's trip to heaven and back. Colton, not yet four years old, told his parents he left his body during the surgery-and authenticated that claim by describing exactly what his parents were doing in another part of the hospital while he was being operated on. He talked of visiting heaven and relayed stories told to him by people he met there whom he had never met in life, sharing events that happened even before he was born. • Heaven is For Real

This is a wonderful little book. The first one I bought was at a Pharmacy gift shop, in the building where my daughter had a Drs appointment. I was reading the book while she was with the Dr. I believe in the afterlife and I have heard many stories. This was thru the eyes if an innocent 3 year old who gives uhs a small glimpse of how heaven will be.I have bought several of these books to give away as a witness. It helps one to understand. How God works in our life, and gives us hope of another world. And how wonderful that will be

  • Young Child's Account of Out-of-Body Experience

There are many excellent books describing near death experiences. This one is exceptional for two reasons: the child who had the experience was only three years old when it happened, and four when he began to describe his "trip to heaven." The other unusual factor is that his father, who wrote the book is a devout Christian minister, but does not allow his beliefs to make make his story heavy-handed. I am not traditionally Christian, but I very much enjoyed this book.

  • Heaven told through the Innocence of a Child

This book is hard to put down once you start reading. The things Colton saw in Heaven will open your eyes to how it will be when we get there. He meets his great grandfather along with a sister he knew nothing about. For parents who have lost their children, from a miscarriage to an early death, they are in Heaven waiting for us. Our son died at the age of 20 and is still aging in Heaven until the age of 30. No one in Heaven is old and no one wears glasses. May God open your eyes to the truth as you read this book.

  • Great TRUE book

I have seen a few interviews of this young guy and was very impressed. So I researched the name of the book so I knew which book to order. What he saw was true. My wife had the same experience of out of body experience as this young guy but she was only able to go down a swirling white light tunnel, when she was 8 years old. Great Book

  • Heaven IS for real!

I read the book on the recommendation of a friend. It was a compelling story of a 4 year old who went to heaven during a life threatening operation. Believe or not, there were enough "coincidents", especially the innocents of a young chiks to make a difference.

  • Great Book! Worth the read and I don't read books!

Great book, could not put it down. Read it in two sittings and I am not a reader. It is not just a story about Heaven it is also a story for any parent who loves their child. For me it was two stories in one. Both equally worth the read, without giving up the whole story line it starts off with the parents trying to get their child well when the normal things are just not working. The second half is Colton's story of what he sees and experiences. Well worth the time to read this one. Might even help to answers some of those life's questions we all have a times in our lives. Very cool book. Enjoy it!

  • Excellent book and very uplifting and filled with hope

I loved this book. I am a believer in Christ and in God, and this little boy's honest and open dialect reiterates and supports what I already knew in my heart. This experience that he had has become a blessing to so many people, and I am thankful it was published. If you need some hope in your life, some direction, some PEACE: read this book. God bless!
