Synopsis"This country's leading hell-raiser" ( The Nation ) shares his impassioned counsel to young radicals on how to effect constructivesocial change and know "the difference between being a realistic radical and being a rhetorical one." First published in 1971 and written in the midst of radical political developments whose direction Alinsky was one of the first to question, this volume exhibits his style at its best. Like Thomas Paine before him, Alinsky was able to combine, both in his person and his writing, the intensity of political engagement with an absolute insistence on rational political discourse and adherence to the American democratic tradition., "This country's leading hell-raiser" ( The Nation ) shares his impassioned counsel to young radicals on how to effect constructive social change and know "the difference between being a realistic radical and being a rhetorical one." If You Wonder Why the World Is Going Crazy...

...this book may provide some answers... Clearly, a very intelligent and observant man, Saul Alinski's offers much insight into social and human interactions. You will find truth and understanding and as well as deception and a near diabolical nature in what this book really achieves. Alinski teaches how to use what means you have to gain what you want, but he never offers any method to determine if what you want and desire is what you have earned or have a right to. The techniques in this book will be equally useful for the oppressed and down-trodden as they will the greedy and immoral. Indeed, the unethical use of Alinski's methods have been utilized and even integrated into permanent fixtures of American and other cultures around the world. Alinski teaches a philosophy of never ending struggle between the haves and have nots. Because he views the world through a corrupted version of yin / yang philosophy, he sees the haves and have nots as equally deserving partners in wealth or poverty with no regard to the choices made, that bring them to these states. His stated goals are not to raise up the have nots, but rather to take from the haves and redistribute. He does not teach understanding and well meaning cooperation, but rather different means of forcing one's will upon others. In some circumstance this may be appropriate. People suffering under tyranny are morally right to use extreme measures to create change, but politicians and the greedy seeking greater wealth and power do not have this moral equivalency and yet... Alinski never addresses such issues. Alinski preaches "the ends justify the means" with no regard for "truth" or what effect it's destruction has on a society or community. Using the idea that being a patriot or a traitor depends on whose side you belong to, making untrue allegations, obscuring the truth, ridicule, lying outright... even to those he leads, are all fair game as long as the desired results are obtained. The worth of truth and honesty as components of a working society between well-meaning members is not considered in his philosophy. The polarization of our nation is likely a direct result of the use of many of his techniques, such as utilizing tragedies to create controversy and "enemies". (Think: mass shootings = Republicans) His methods to use "key words" to drive media and messaging narratives can be seen as a constant in our mainstream media outlets every day. His methods employ creating "teams" or "communities" of bonded groups even though their interests and goals may be completely unrelated. (Think rallies where "Liberals" concerned about abortion rights, women's rights, the environment, college education, racism, xenophobia, animal rights, islamaphobia, gay marriage, LGBQT rights, child labor, etc. are all gathered together.) Numbers = "power". It's not that all these groups share such diverse concerns but rather, if pulled together, they become much more influential. The problem with such alliances, (Again not addressed and likely not even understood by Alinski), arises from groups of angry, passionate people gathered under vague and personally meaningless causes. These undefined, wide brush accusations directed towards the "enemy", create a society where "hatred without just cause" becomes normal for those caught in the flow. Ironically, it is those creating this social order of comrades and enemies that suffer most from such a manufactured world view. The word diabolical seems appropriate for such a machine. It's not that Saul Alinski isn't expressing truth in the observations he makes between the haves and the have nots nor in the effects of his methods. And it's not that genuine good can't come of "forcing" change when injustice is in control. What gives this book and it's concepts such an insidious nature is the impact it can have on the people it influences over the course of years, as society and humanity journeys forward under false notions and unwarranted rights and offenses. There will always be rich and poor, the have and the have nots. This is the nature of our existance. Contrary to popular sentiment, we are not created equal. It is certainly true that some are born into wealth or poverty, some have higher or lesser degrees of intelligence and some, better or poorer educational options. Some people have physical strength, some do not, some have beauty and talent, some not so much. We are not equal, but every person makes choices that influences the outcome of their lives and it's these choices that determine failure and success in finding happiness or discontent. The higher call should be for every individual, no matter their state, to find personal satisfaction and happiness outside the limits of what others may do for or against them. In truth, this contentment can be found no where else. Saul Alinski was no doubt an intelligent man, but he was neither wise nor honorable in his actions as a leader of people.

    Designed by evil minds

This is a Marxist takeover plan. I read it to know the enemy. The whole premise of Marxism is bad, it always depends into tyranny and genocide. Everything woke and pc that is happening today is easily traced back to this guide book. If you do buy this book buy it used. Don’t Buy new so you don’t give the money to the author’s family and or the publisher.

  • How The Radical Left Is Attacking The Character Of Those Who Disagree With Them, Not Their Belief System!!

Everyone should read this; then you would understand the "WOKE" culture and how they are applying the methods in this book in trying to silence everyone that doesn't agree with them. The current Radical Left Democratic Agenda, AKA..UN AGENDA 2030 is one of Radical, Marxist-Socialism that is far beyond what this author had in mind for this country and the world..definitely not The New World Order that is being espoused through fear and intimidation..that is what the anarchists that led Italy and then Germany into. It is Neo- Fascism in it's early stages. Only The LORD Can Save America For HIS GLORY!!

That the author quotes Satan’s kingdom in the beginning of the book shows you exactly who he and his followers are in line with. This book also shows people how to destroy the good and moral things in the world. Your his drone before you ever realize it... Terrible book terrible author! F-

  • Food for Thought

For some reason I think this is one of those "banned books"; however, it is a interesting read. I decided to read it after a right wing smear was posted against it and hearing other right wing antagonisms. The right seems to think it is a radical left wing conspiracy. No such thing. In fact I found a YouTube post where the right was using the techniques to their own advantage, quoting the steps that were in the book. So read for yourself and decide rather than let other dictate your choices.

  • Why we are in serious trouble!

This is the instruction book for the sociopaths that want to destroy THE greatest, kindest, most productive, successful society in the HIstory of the world. Our United States of America as given to us by the Founders of this great Nation. They were a unique concentration of centuries of study of goodness in religion, they put together a system of teaching the children of the entire nation the most workable rules of ethics and kindness under the 10 commandments. They created a people from all over the world yet uniquely American, with the Freedom to work together to create the best of the best. Read this book so you can recognize treason when you are faced with it. If we do not recognize it now we do not stand a chance of saving ourselves from the wolves that have taked advantage of our kindness to invade and destroy what our ancesters have worked hard and spilled blood to create for our children. Our education system is changed to not teach our children how wonderful this country was but to sully it's beautiful history so they won't care to stand up for it. God Bless America!

  • The Handbook of "Dirty Rules!"

If you've ever had the funny feeling that you were being subtly manipulated by people in power, you were right. Here's one of the most important handbooks to help you encode what these tricks are. I always thought it was bizarre exaggeration when people said Alinsky dedicated this book to the Devil - but he indeed did - as well as saying his "dream job" would be to organize hell. Well Alinsky, based on the content you put out in this book, you just may be give an opportunity to DO that job!

  • Rules for Radicals

Alinsky lifted up Lucifer as the greatest and first community activist. Well, we all know how that is going to work out for him don't we. Alinsky will follow Satan into the Pit, which holds the Lake of Fire, for all of Eternity. That means forever and forever. They, and all who follow them, mainly Liberal minded cool-aide drinkers, will suffer the same way. They are out to destroy this great country and to kill, steal and destroy. Good versus Evil. Evil will lose, and those of conservative and christian values will reign for Eternity in a much better place. Just Saying.
