Let's start with, I love this sourdough cookbook by Rita. My first copy, I purchased in 1994, dove into the recipes about 1995, thought I lost it in 2004, found it tucked safely away. Now, I need another copy. I have tried the rose rolls, oatmeal cookies, pinto rinco bundt cake, honey wheat bread, added my version of chocolate waffles and used the information in the front of the book to adapt other cake recipes. My daughter's fond memories are of the killer chocolate waffles that we made in her teens, and she confessed to pilfering the freeze for them after school. Asked for more when the supply was getting low, and never let on to her forages that help deplete the stockpile. You will find that the cookbook does call for yeast to be added, but I am not so die hard on that particular aspect of my baking adventures. I like the added lightness that sourdough adds to cookies, cakes, pie crust, etc. And the cookbook gives the info needed to adapt recipes, which is what I have done. Try pudding cake with an addition of sourdough and you will see what I mean. Enjoy!Read full review

This book has some very good recipes. It is easy to follow and recipes I have tried are very good. It is a more modern version of sourdough baking.
Had this cookbook since it came out and have used it over and over for the past years. It finally feel apart and I wanted to get a new one so I could start teaching my granddaughter how to make a lot of the great things.
