940nm infrared LEDs are virtually invisible to the naked eye. These LEDs produce no light that the naked human eye can see. This is how a compatible illuminator with 850nm LEDs will illuminate much better than a 940nm.
I have used devices similar to this for many years but then needed a lot more supportive electronics to work. I have dropped these lamps on tile floors and they continued to work. The slots in the sides of them allow for air cooling so that no expensive and heavy heat sinks are needed. They are more powerful and less expensive than the old devices are. They can be tested by using any phone with a camera that is sensitive to IR, such as the selfie camera on the iPhone.
This bulb works really well, bright enough to illuminate a medium size room but invisible to us humans. Screws into a normal light socket. It is only warm to touch not hot even after several hours. If you have a single room or area 15'-20’ long or so, it should work well for you.
