Grooverider: Slot Car Thunder brings the 360-degree loops, twisting tracks, jumps, and high-speed action from the toy hobby to the television screen. Rather than simply race along a static course, players must avoid booby traps and fend off competitors using an assortment of power-ups, some of which include spikes, mines, and power boosts. A total of 20 tracks are available to race on one of three difficulty levels. <br><br>Players can choose from 24 vehicles, ranging from 1920s British racecars to Formula One racers to traditional stock cars. In addition to avoiding incoming missiles or mines from opponents, players need to be on the lookout for barriers and falling objects that can instantly end their race. Once the main game has been conquered, up to four friends can compete in multiplayer events, or players can edit existing tracks for some added variety.
