It seems to be much stronger than the twist on type connectors. The one thing that made this difficult to install was that it seemed to be made more for multi strand wire rather than romex (solid wire), which is what was used to wire our trailer. It was very hard to get the wire to stay in the receptacles. I had to crank down the holding screws harder than what the instructions seem to indicate, but it did not break. When totally put together to my satisfaction it seemed to be very strong!
