I have used my Smart Tennis Sensor several times now and find the information it provides valuable and useful. Connecting to my racquet (RF97) was very straight forward as is charging it and pairing it with my phone (Android) or iPad. It is not a heavy device (just 8 ounces I believe), but even attaching to the butt of the racquet, it does change the feel of the racquet slightly and I do feel or notice it on the butt occasionally. This isn't an issue for the most part, but I don't think I would play a meaningful match with the device attached. As far as the data it provides, it is pretty comprehensive, detecting/calculating the type of stroke and then swing speed, contact point, spin, and ball speed. I found it to be quite accurate in detecting the stroke with a few caveats. First, it seems to confuse serves and overheads at times with some serves being considered an overhead instead. I have not figured out what it tries to use to distinguish between these. Second, it seems to use the length of swing or follow through to detect a volley versus a slice ground stroke which usually works, but occasionally it mixes these up. Last, and perhaps most annoying but to be expected, if you hit a ball to your opponent if they need it to serve for example, it counts that as a stroke, usually a slice forehand for me. Not sure what to do about this other than throw the ball rather than hit it. As far as the spin and speeds, I have no reference point for raw accuracy so can't say there, but it does seem to have good relative accuracy. If I swing harder/faster, it does result in a higher swing/ball speed. If I hit with dramatically more spin, it detects that too. So as a training aid to set a baseline and then work on your game and see if you've improved, it should be very useful.Read full review

The sensor is relatively accurate. I was shocked at how it recognized the type of shots that were being hit and broke down many stats about the swing and contact. The only trouble is making sure you have a newer racquet that is compatible with the sensor.

I won't know if the readings are accurate, but they are on the right trend and scale.
